Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
Usually tickets need to be purchased in advance. Tours do sell out so we suggest purchasing your tickets early to guarantee your desired tour day. You can buy your tickets online or by phone with a Visa, Mastercard or American Express. Occasionally, we will have spots available, so we encourage calling if you want to drop in the day of our tour.
What about taking children or adolescents on the tour?
Participants must be at least 21 years of age to participate in the wine tasting on our tours. Please bring a valid government-issued ID for random ID checks in tasting rooms and restaurants. Younger people are welcome to enjoy the gourmet food without the wine.
What about inclement weather?
Tours will run rain or shine. We suggest checking the weather and dressing in layers.
How much walking and standing is involved?
The tour covers approximately one block over a 3.5 hour period. The tour is conducted at a relaxed pace and stops frequently, spending meaningful time at each of our designated tasting spots. We still recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes, as we will be on our feet in between restaurants.
What if I have dietary restrictions or food allergies? Are there vegetarian options on the tour?
Please let us know if anyone in your party has a dietary restriction or food allergies when you purchase tickets. We will accommodate your needs to the best of our ability. However, please note that there may be some tastings on the tour that can be difficult to replace and that we cannot guarantee substitutions for all tastings.
How much food is served?
We eat a good handful of food at each stop. Usually we sit down in 4 restaurants or more with additional tasty stops.
How much wine will we get to taste? What types of wine will we taste?
This depends on the tour. Both Sonoma & Tiburon offer wine tasting at each stop. Others feature a flight or more.
What types of food are served? What locations will we visit?
Participants will have the opportunity to sample unique food items that best represent our chefs and top restaurants that exemplify either a farm-to-table or sea-to-table experience.
What if I want to join the tour for the food, but do not want to participate in the wine tastings?
Our tour price is less for non-drinkers.
How long do we spend at each establishment?
The amount of time we spend at each location varies depending on the spot, but aproximately 20-30 minutes.
Do we only walk around and sample food and wine?
This tour not only showcases the delicacies our towns offer but it will also give you the insider's scoop. Learn about the history, architecture and culture of a neighborhood while tasting delicious specialties from some of the most popular, authentic and unique establishments of each destination.
What should I wear?
We recommend wearing weather appropriate clothing and comfortable walking shoes.
Are bathrooms available along the tour route?
Yes, there are restrooms at nearly every stop.
Is the tour wheelchair and stroller accessible?
Yes! The tour is wheelchair and stroller accessible.
Are cameras allowed?
Yes, we encourage taking photos!
Do your tours have anything to offer a local?
Absolutely! While you may be familiar with our route and some of the stops, you will have the opportunity to try new foods at the tasting locations and learn more details about each establishment. Also, being a local, you have the unique opportunity to re-visit the eateries we feature on the tour and any other recommendations we point out at your leisure. Additionally, this tour is an excellent way to entertain out-of-town guests, celebrate a special occasion or encourage professional team building.
Where does the tour finish?
The tour ends not far from the starting location since we generally loop a concentrated area. Your tour guide will be more than happy to give directions back to the starting location or point you in the right direction for your next destination. For those who are driving, we ask you to drink responsibly.
Is parking available near the meeting location?
Yes parking will be available near the meeting location. Please allow extra time and read all signs when looking for street parking to avoid getting ticketed. Specific parking details will be included in the meeting location directions after purchasing tickets. If for some reason you do not see directions, please do call us.
Are tours only offered in English?
Our tours are typically conducted in English. We offer the tour in French, Spanish and more for approximately the same price of one additional ticket if our interpreters are available.
Can I shop during the tour?
Usually this works out fine, but it depends on the season and the hours of the merchant. We will provide all the information necessary for you to return to your favorite spots once the tour is over.
Are dogs/pets allowed on the tour?
Since we will be entering various food establishments, and as a courtesy to the other guests on the tour, all pets, with the exception of trained service dogs, are prohibited on the tour.
Does the tour guide accept gratuities?
Gratuities are not included in the ticket price. Tipping is accepted and always appreciated by the tour guides. Industry standard is 18%.
Is smoking allowed on the tour?
Smoking is not allowed on any portion of the tour.
