Loads of stories and helpful information

Your guide will meet you at the Sonoma Plaza and provide a quick overview of what Sonoma is all about, while driving you to our destination just ten minutes away.

Our hike is tucked into the hills less than two miles northeast of Sonoma Plaza. The 375-acre park leases part of its diverse land to a winery. This adventure is not a meandering stroll through the vineyards. The trail is a backcountry hike winding through oak-covered mountain slopes and redwood groves. The hike follows portions of Arroyo Seco and the South Fork of Arroyo Seco to a pond, lake, cave, and two impressive overlooks.

This tour is not for the meek. If you are in shape, getting in shape and want to balance out all the good eating you are bound to be doing with Sonoma’s amazing culinary scene, then this is the tour for you!

Make sure you eat breakfast first, so that you can burn calories & not be hungry hiking this 2.4 mile loop.  At the finish we embark on a magical and historical tasting to get you in the mood for your gourmet lunch.

Finally, we finish with a tour of Sonoma’s newest chocolate house, Coco Planet for healthy, organic samples.

Have questions? Here's the most frequently asked.

Can we bring our dog?

We love dogs too, but are mindful that most of our restaurants do not allow pets, therefore it is our policy to not allow dogs on our tours. If you are coming on our Yountville experience, our dogs (Roxie, Keema & Tootsie) highly recommend Thomas Keller’s dog treats that are available for purchase at Bouchon Bakery. If you put in your notes that you would like to buy these dog snacks for extra, we can make that happen for you and yours.  Woof!

Dog biscuits are $2.00/ea.

Contains: wheat, chicken and duck liver, with a ketchup glaze

Are children allowed?

Unless it is the Yountville experience, we leave it to our guest’s discretion as to whether they feel they want to bring their children, but unless they are in a stroller, their spot would need to be paid for due to our small group sizes and how we fit at a table. We have only had 3 babies in three years and only on the Sonoma experience. Older kids, 12 and over, are fine on any of our tours.

If it is hard to tell age, we will ask for ID to honor our partner’s wishes. They usually will check again. For this reason, please make sure you bring your ID when participating on a tour.

Because the Yountville Tour happens for micro-groups only, it would be challenging to bring children unless you are signing up to fill all the spaces. We have professional services we could recommend for a certified nanny. BTW: All of our guides LOVE kids and most of us are parents, some of us grandparents!

Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?

To maximize your chances of getting the day, time, and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance. Tickets can only be purchased with a Visa, AMEX, or MasterCard from our website or by calling. Cash and/or walk-up traffic the day of the tours are not accepted.

If a food tour is sold out, can I get on a waiting list?

We do not provide a waiting list. If a date and time is sold out, there is always a good chance that we will add an additional tour on that day. Please email us to let us know what date you are interested in if you do not see availability.

Do I need to tip?

Gratuities are greatly appreciated, although not mandatory. The standard gratuity in the service industry is 15%-20%.
